The intention is that they are to be accessed by liaisons in order to create realistic, manageable student owned CLP projects - the ruMAD site has the 8 keys to madness which is of particular help. In order to access the 8 keys to madness, teachers or facilitators need to register and then access TOOLKIT.

Do you know about some of the Community Learning Projects that the students are developing?

During Term 3 2022 the following Community Learning Projects (CLPs) are being developed by each of the School Teams attending the Gnurad-Gundidj Campus as part of their School for Student Leadership Program. These CLPs relate to their home and school communities.

Elisabeth Murdoch College – Enhancing Mental Health Awarenes at Elisabeth Murdoch College
Ballarat High School – Raising awareness and funds for homeless in Ballarat
Officer Secondary College – Aboriginal Literacy Foundation Fundraiser and Book Run
Wangaratta High School – Native planting at Wangaratta High School
Mt Waverley (A) – Cultural Food Market to support the Little Social
Castlemaine Secondary College (A) – Birdboxes to provide habitats for native animals
Dromana College – Raising awareness for children in poverty at a local primary school
Mt Waverley (B) – Facilitating the 'Go Big Challenge' at our school to raise awarness for the Starlight Foundation
Castlemaine Secondary College (B) – Bottletop recycling to support a circular economy
Numurkah Secondary College – Planning and running social activities with our Aged Care facility

School For Student Leadership

School for Student Leadership is a Victorian Department of Education initiative offering a unique residential education experience for year nine students. The curriculum focuses on personal development and team learning projects sourced from students' home regions. There are four campuses in iconic locations across Victoria. The Alpine School Campus is located at Dinner Plain in the Victorian Alps. Snowy River Campus is near the mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo in east Gippsland. The third site is adjacent to Mount Noorat near Camperdown in Victoria’s Western District, and is called Gnurad-Gundidj. After consultation with the local aboriginal community, this name represents both the indigenous name of the local area and an interpretation of the statement "belonging to this place". The fourth and most recently opened campus is Don Valley Campus, situated on land that was once known as Haining Farm in the Yarra Ranges.
