This project is important to us because they were original Australians (traditional owners of our land) and they deserve to be treated like people not animals. Because in our constitution they fall under the bracket of fauna.
Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
Our team’s vision is to raise awareness for indigenous and Torres strait islanders right to be included in Australia’s constitution as people not fauna. The steps we will take are getting involved with the recognise organisation. We will then find out more about the traditional owners of the land that Bentleigh was built on. Next we shall promote the aboriginal rights to our community. We will then try and build an indigenous totem pole and boomerang bench. We will try and initiate an exchange program.
