The students from Gnurad Gundidj were excited to be able to visit the Framlingham Aboriginal Trust on a recent rest day. We had a tour and explanation of the cultural centre which included learning about artefacts, art work, historical documents and sustainable land practices that had been part of the way of life of members of the Framlingham community. Student comments were: "the thing I liked best about Fram was the kangaroo meat we cooked and ate at the BBQ and learning about the history of the Aboriginals of the local area" from Aman; "what I value about Fram is that the area is really great and very native. There were really good paintings and we looked at a lot of aboriginal artefacts. Possum (Clarke) took us for a walk into the bush and showed us the Trust boundaries" by Navajo; "what I learned was about all the different types of rocks and what they could be used for. Possum showed us how he could use his breath and voice box to make different sounds on the didgeridoo. I learned about how the missions had come about and how they related to the stolen generation" by Kaylah; "what I really enjoyed was when we went for a walk through the bush and listened to Possum telling us about our ancestors" by Ty; "what was amazing about Fram was all the history and knowledge of the local area and their amazing art work" from Steph.
